Hi, I'm Hywel Carver, a saxophonist working in London.
I've been playing sax for about 15 years, got Honours in my Jazz Grade 8 in 2003, and now I play music of all kinds: mainly Funk, Soul and R'n'B but also Blues, Hip-Hop, Swing, Jazz, Dub, Drum and Bass, Motown, Ska, Classical, Minimalist and Latin.
I've shared a stage with the likes of Joss Stone, Buster Bloodvessel, Will Todd and Scott Stroman and I've studied with Ray Beavis, Kathy Stobart and Jean Toussaint.
I teach, I do recording sessions and I dep (substitute for your regular sax player).

I play a Selmer III alto, a P. Mauriat 66R tenor and an AKAI EWI 4000s, and have been influenced by the music of Kenny Garrett, Miles Davis, Steve Reich, Michael Brecker, Courtney Pine, David Sanborn, Soulive, Tower of Power, James Brown and many others.
